Teesside is a region that has a rich and varied history dating back to the Roman times. It grew and prospered through the coal, iron and steel industries. The area is famous for the Stockton and Darlington Railway, the worlds first steam passenger train and Captain James Cook who was born at Marton, now a suburb of Middlesbrough.
Middlesbrough has many wonderful heritage parks and has plenty of fine examples of Victorian Gothic architecture whilst Teesside has developed not just commercially and industrially but also offers excellent shopping centres for people who live and work in and around the area.
As you would expect the local shops and businesses are excellent
and offer a range of products and services which are aimed to satisfy locals
and visitors alike. Their sole objective is to offer traditional value and
good service. Middlesbrough itself is host to virtually all the major high

stores and shopping is an experience guaranteed to be enjoyed by everyone
irrespective of age. There is also an excellent and wide ranging array of
cafe's, restaurants, bars, pubs and clubs.
For those who love the countryside, The North York Moors National Park, Tees Valley and costal scenery are close at hand and offer a wealth of natural and unspoiled beauty. There is an excellent choice of schools and educational centres to be found throughout the area which cater for children of all ages. Yarm offers pleasant riverside walks with first class restaurants and schools.
